Open Door Christian Schools is a coeducational, preschool through grade 12 predominantly college preparatory day school serving primarily Christian families. Governed by a board of directors, is a nonprofit, nondenominational ministry of the Church of the Open Door. Its kindergarten students are equipped for first grade by learning fundamental language and math skills. In language and reading, the school places a strong emphasis on phonics. In math, it utilizes a hands-on approach in which the children are actively involved with manipulatives to learn math concepts. Its curriculum also includes art, Bible studies, English, foreign languages, keyboarding, music, Physical education, reading, science and health, social studies and spelling. Open Door Christian Schools is located in Elyria, Ohio.
