Founded in 1969, Patapsco Middle School serves more than 650 students in grades six through eight. Its academic curriculum includes language arts, English, math, reading, science, social studies, and health and physical education. In addition, the school offers the English for Speakers for Other Languages program. Patapsco Middle School also conducts classes in American Sign Language, as well as a range of world languages, such as Chinese, French, German, Italian, Latin, Russian and Spanish. The school offers dance, music, theatre and visual arts classes. Located in Ellicott City, Md., Patapsco Middle School is a part of the Howard County Public School System, which serves students in prekindergarten through grade 12 in a range of elementary, middle and high schools.
