Founded in 1991, Mayfield Woods Middle School provides learning opportunities to more than 650 students in grades six through eight. It offers several academic courses, such as reading, English, social studies, math, science, art, technology education, foreign languages, physical education and music. The school also offers various special programs, such as alternative education, educational partnership, spell read phonological auditory training, extended day care, after-school academic intervention, summer school and leadership outlook. Its parent-teacher association has more than 230 members and organizes several fundraising programs. The school s media center stocks a range of teaching resources, reference materials and online database. Mayfield Woods Middle School is a part of Howard County Public School System and is located in Elkridge, Md.
