Salk Middle School serves students in grades six through eight. Its academic curriculum includes various subjects, such as science, language arts, mathematics and physical education. The school additionally conducts art, social studies, family and consumer science and world language classes. Salk Middle School offers a Pre-Engineering Magnet Program, which includes instruction in pre-engineering, biomedicine, aeronautics and technology applications. Its media center stocks a range of print and multimedia reading and reference resources. In addition, the school has a parent-teacher organization that sponsors several fundraising events. Salk Middle School provides various health care services, including medications, immunizations and screenings. It is located in Elk River, Minn., and is a part of the Elk River Area School District.
