- Engine RepairAt the heart of every car lies an engine. It is one of the most important inventions of the 20th century. These wonders of metal and oil power near a billion cars around the world, helping people travel and transport. From Boxer engines to small-block V8s, any and every combination is used to power the automobile. At Casey Automotive, we literally get questions every day asking if we do engine repairs. And the answer is yes — we offer engine repairs for all types of motors at our shop in Elgin, Illinois. No matter how big or small the problem is, our team with Jasper Engines will dive right in and take care of that issue. Below are some of the main engine repairs we can do to your vehicle.
- Oil ChangeWhile service items like the oil change and filter replacement come in regular intervals, other items come in much longer intervals. These are no less valuable to the normal operation of the vehicle. For instance, a car battery will last four to five years, depending on the car’s usage and battery quality. A failing battery will cause the car not to start, and in some cases, stall. Additionally, servicing the transmission every 60,000 miles will keep it lubricated and prevent it from seizing. Another big service point is the replacement of the timing belt and pulley every 85,000 miles to protect engine health. If you have questions about the service needs of your vehicle, don’t hesitate to contact our local experts in Elgin, Illinois. Call us at 847-697-1825 or visit our shop at 1170 N McLean Boulevard. We look forward to seeing you soon!

- Brake Fluid ServiceOne sensation no driver wants to experience is feeling the car shake and wobble as they come to a stop. The most common cause of this is the warping of your rotors. Warping occurs when the rotors are exposed to thousands of wheel revolutions over time, creating an uneven surface. Even the tiniest indention or bump on the rotors will cause car wobble and vibration under braking. Another cause may be a failing brake caliper piston, which actuates the pads contact with the rotors. If the piston cannot disengage, the pad will rub against the rotors, causing a vibration. If either event occurs, the rotors and pads will need replacing. This, along with a brake fluid flush and brake pad sensor replacement, if applicable to your vehicle.
- Brake InspectionOne of the worst things to hear when driving is a harsh grinding as you come to a stop. On the bright side, it may be that small pellets of gravel are in the braking system. That can be rectified with proper cleaning. On the other side, though, it could mean your brake pads have worn out and are now grinding against the rotors. It is important you visit our shop immediately for a brake inspection if this happens to you. The best course of action is replacing the brake pads or brake shoes and a brake fluid flush.
