  Additionally, he serves as a consultant to the Pathology Department at Kaiser Hospital in San Diego; and he also served as Associate Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Dermatology, at the University of California, San Diego for 25 years. He served as interim head of the dermatopath section for 2 years.

  Dr. Thoene performs most types of dermatologic surgery and is especially interested in clinical diagnostic dermatology. He and his office staff work closely with Dr. Hansen's office to coordinate ultraviolet treatments and specialty procedures such as Moh's surgery.

  The office staff includes a state-certified esthetician; Teresa Meinsen She is able to provide professional cosmetic services utilizing the newest technology in this field. Besides medical and surgical dermatology, both Dr. Hansen and Dr. Thoene are also able to provide BOTOX injections for the correction of facial wrinkles and imperfections.
