      General Info

      Located in downtown Edwardsville, IL, St. Andrew's Episcopal Church faithfully serves Christ while proclaiming the Gospel. We are a mid-sized, family church and our diverse parish welcomes visitors from every background and traditions to our worship services on Sundays. Since 1841, we have been a strong Anglican/Episcopal faith community. St. Andrew's offers a variety of programs, including: • Youth group • Sunday program for children • Outreach in the community and with area charities • Senior citizens group • Adult education We've been at the same site since the early 1870s with our current building being completed in 1916. We dedicated a major addition in 2002, adding classrooms, choir rehearsal facilities, a large parish hall and more. This new addition effectively doubled the space available to us and helps us serve the community more effectively. Our historic structure houses reflections of local history related to the Village of Leclaire and the N.O. Nelson Manufacturing Company. Nelson materials were used in the church's construction and the Nelson family has made donations to the church. The Nelson company made our beautiful altar, one of the first they made, as well as the pews, communion rail and plumbing for the new building. We still use several of Nelson products, including a brass cross and brass and marble candlesticks on the altar. Throughout our history, we've had 31 rectors and witnessed history. We've even survived our share of crises, some severe enough to close our doors. Thanks to the dedication and love of our parishioners, we've bounced back each time.
