Established in 1973, Palm Valley Animal Center is one of the leading private, nonprofit organizations that works for animal welfare and serves pet owners in Hidalgo County, Texas. It houses more than 250 dogs and 130 cats and receives over 40,000 animals each year. The organization offers a range of shelter services that include intake of homeless animals, animal advocacy, adoption, and lost and found services. Palm Valley Animal Center additionally offers adoption, volunteer-assisted animal care and education programs.
