General Info
HABITAT is a place of one's own. It is a setting for living, relaxing and replenishment. It is a place of safety and fulfillment of one's dreams and pride. It goes beyond four walls and a roof, a mere shelter against the elements. Habitat is the ultimate sense of belonging. It is a home. ARCHITECTURE is the means to which various environmental elements come together to respond to an individual's needs and lifestyle in a coherent, functional, esthetically pleasing and earth friendly manner. Habitat Architecture is an architectural firm, based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, specialized in custom residential design. Established in 1991, has been known for its high level of service and design diversity. That means we believe that there is always a well designed solution for every lifestyle, budget and settings, and we are committed to deliver that creativity to a diverse client base. From traditional to contemporary style, from small to expansive, from modest to luxurious, our specialty is our creativity in solving problems with thoughtful designs, unique and specific to any given circumstance. Hamid Kashani AIA, NCARB is the principle architect and founder of this design and service oriented architectural firm. Hamid graduated from University of Minnesota ; School of Architecture in 1980 and went on to practice in three states of Colorado, California and Minnesota, working with a variety of design firms, with different size and specialties. Asking why residential design as his specialty, He explains: The early part of my career involved mostly commercial design work, including some very large projects like a concourse addition to a major international airport, an althletic recreational center and designing number of high end national restaurant chains. However, as I gradually had the opportunity to work on some residential projects I discovered how designing homes could be such a rewarding experience. You get to help and guide people to bring their dream into reality. It involves creating the environment that is most intimately personal to people and their psychology. And in the end, I get a great sense of satisfaction and joy in seeing how my work has contributed to the lives of my clients and their experience of working with an architect.
