My grandmother got a cat spayed there and they charged her more money for a distemper and rabies shot when my grandma had the paperwork proving the cat already had the shots from where she was adopted from. When we complained they were like oh we called the vet on the paperwork and they said they had no record for a cat with that name or my grandmothers last name .. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? The cat was adopted from a local pet store in red bank > of course the paperwork wouldn't have my grandmothers name !!!!! THEY ARE DISGUSTING GREEDBALLS !!!!!

I went to the Freehold Mall lo...

I went to the Freehold Mall location this weekend with my family (my husband and 3 kids 5,3, &1) and we spent over an hour there they were ready to give us the dog (for a fee of course) but we wanted to get house ready. they put dog on hold for us but we told them we were going home and will call in morning to make sure dog was still there. We went out and got a crate and a couple gates for our home. We call the next morning and they tell us that we can not adopt this puppy because our children we acting inappropriate towards the dog yesterday....What??? if they were acting inapproprate with the dog why did they want us to buy/adopt her then or why didn t they tell me they thought my kids were acting that way? nothing was said. then after I spoke with the adoption counselor she changed it and said that we don t let families with children under 6 adopt puppies...we have been in there 3 times and filled out applications and have gotten interviewed and NO ONE has ever said that to us.....then today the manager that was on duty saturday (BILL) called to tell me that a puppy is a lot of work and I have 3 small children they did not think I could handle a puppy also. Oh and that my 1 year daughter kicked the puppy. which she did BUT it was in pure excitement when she saw the puppy (she was in her stroller by the way) and the adoption counselor put the puppy s head in my daughters lap. And HE does not want one of HIS puppies going to a home like mine....what kind of home would that be sir? A loving one that has three children that were so excited to get a dog and that would love it to pieces??? Then he also said that Melissa didn t have the heart to tell me no on Saturday? So why didn t he? And why did she sit down with my kids and talk about what it is like to have a puppy.... this whole situation was handle VERY POORLY and now that my family is no longer allowed to adopt from this facility I hope everyone else decides to adopt from another adoption agency. This is very sad, all we wanted to do it adopt a puppy and give it a great home.

UNBELIEVABLE !!! We just call...

UNBELIEVABLE !!! We just called about the 25 + puppies that were "confiscated" from the home in Spring Lake. This shelter (and I use that term loosely) is SELLING them for $400 each !! The woman we spoke to told us that the $400 (donation) was to cover the cost of vaccinations,spay/neutering, microchipping, etc. When I told her that the Ocean County shelter does the same for a $60 donation, she had nothing to say other than they were a "non-profit organization" ......HA, non-profit....thats a JOKE.....you should be ashamed of yourselves ! Their name LEADS YOU TO BELIEVE they are affiliated with Monmouth County.......MAKE NO MISTAKE ABOUT IT....they ARE NOT affiliated with ANYTHING but profits ! VERY SAD !

They don't care

If you're looking to adopt an animal, donate money or have any type of treatment done to your animal DO NOT use the Monmouth County SPCA. They are a typical business. They DO NOT care about the animals. They only care about the money they can get from you. You're better off going to a private shelter where the top priority is the treatment and well being of the animals and not the money.
