We utilize the latest equipment in digital radiology as well as protective vests and thyroid collars on every patient while taking x-ray images.
- Teeth CleaningA Healthy Looking Smile – Our daily habits can cause staining and yellowing of the teeth. A teeth cleaning will polish the stains away and give you a brighter smile!
- Dental SealantsSealants are a protective varnish that is placed to protect the deep grooves in your back teeth. 75% of dental decay starts in these deep grooves where bacteria can hide and accumulate. The smooth sealant covers the grooves and prevents the bacteria and dental decay from occurring. Sealants can be placed in teeth in both children and adults to protect teeth that have never had decay before. The best time to place a sealant on children is when their first molars come in at 6-7 years of age and their second molars come in at ages 11-14.
- Fillings
- VeneersVeneers are designed to breath life into your smile. Porcelain veneers are extremely thin (0.3 mm in thickness) that are bonded to the front of your individual teeth. The porcelain mimics the beauty of natural enamel and allows us to change the shape, color, size, contours, and symmetry of your teeth and smile.
- CrownsA crown is a custom covering that restores a tooth to it’s original shape and size. It can also be used to to enhance the appearance in esthetic situations. Crowns protect teeth that have been badly decayed or fractured by increasing the strength of the tooth with complete coverage of the remaining tooth structure. Crowns are made out of different types of porcelain depending on the application.
- BridgesAt Pocono Dental, we make it our mission to provide minimally invasive, long-term restoration options for missing teeth that look and feel natural. A dental bridge will permanently replace missing teeth in a way that functions well, feels good, and looks great!
- Dental BondingDental Bonding is a popular method to enhance the aesthetics of your smile. Bonding can be used to correct gaps, remove chips, cover up discolored teeth, or as a filling after a cavity has been removed.
- Root Canal TreatmentA root canal is needed when damage occurs to the pulp of a tooth. The pulp, commonly revered to as “the nerve,” is comprised of nerves and blood vessels. When decay or an injury affects the pulp, the tooth can become sensitive, painful, and then cause an infection. If the tooth reaches this point, a root canal is the only alternative to having the tooth extracted. The infected pulp is removed, the pain is eliminated, and the tooth can be saved. Root canals are dreaded by some patients because of the pain that comes BEFORE the root canal but the procedure effectively makes the pain go away.
- Deep CleaningGum disease is treated by first removing the build up of plaque and hardened plaque that hides beneath the gums with a Deep Cleaning. When the cause of the problem is removed, the teeth foundation will heal to varying degrees depending on the initial condition of the gums. From here, it is vital for the patient to maintain the gum health with improved home care and often increased frequency periodontal maintenance regiment. Pocono Dental will provide you with the tools and advice to maintain your oral health so you do not have to worry about losing your teeth even after you have experienced gum disease.
- DenturesAt Pocono Dental, we strive to give people a denture that is indistinguishable from natural teeth. Our goal is to actually enhance your smile whether we are replacing all of the teeth with a complete denture or only some of the teeth with a partial denture. We use the best materials and techniques available to give you back the smile you deserve.
- OverdenturesAn overdenture attaches to implants that are placed on the toothless ridge. The denture snaps on and has a strong hold. This is the gold standard for lower dentures. The lower denture does not have the suction/retention of the upper denture because there is no palate and often less of a ridge. Patients that have an overdenture enjoy a strong attachment to implants without having to worry about the denture moving around in the mouth.
- Dental ImplantsDental implants are a permanent and appealing solution to replace missing teeth. They are the gold standard for tooth replacement due to their versatility, predictability, and biocompatibility. Implants look, act, and feel just like natural teeth without altering the other teeth in the mouth.

- Tooth ExtractionsThere are many reasons a tooth may need to be extracted. A tooth may have a severe fracture, large cavity, or may be causing an infection. At Pocono Dental, we will always discuss your options with you including alternatives to extractions and what can be done to replace the missing tooth once it is extracted. It is important to consider replacing teeth because even a single tooth removal can lead to problems that relate to chewing ability, the jaw bone joint.

- Teeth WhiteningHealthy teeth aren’t always dazzling white. Even with perfect dental hygiene, daily habits such as drinking coffee/wine, smoking, and other foods have the ability to stain our teeth on a daily basis. Teeth whitening restores the bright and natural color of our teeth and can increase our confidence and our love to smile!
- Cosmetic DentistryAdvances in technology gives Pocono Dental the ability to create beautiful yet strong porcelain veneers.
