      VA Medical Center East Orange offers a range of health care services that include general medical, psychiatry, surgical and long-term care. It maintains a team of physicians, nurses, therapists and social workers. The center offers diabetes education, pulmonary rehabilitation, prosthetics and homeless outreach programs. It also serves active-duty patients and veterans with war-related illnesses. The center s physicians provide treatment services for several infectious and cardiovascular diseases. It provides cancer screening, magnetic resonance imaging, methadone maintenance, nuclear medicine and audiology and speech pathology services. In addition, VA Medical Center East Orange operates a cardiac catheterization laboratory, low vision center, and stress disorder and substance abuse treatment units. It is operated by the Department of Veteran Affairs.
