my daughter has been going here for about a year and a half, staff is professional and fun, the instructions are structured, and i feel that the advancement process is not just paper advancement, the students need to earn their belts.

If you are looking for a Taekwondo studio where you and/or your child will be challenged, truly learn the art of TaeKwondo, and have good time, your search ends here. MTA's lead instructor and owner, Mehrdad Khabir, genuinely cares about the success of all his students and loves his job. Prior to being a student of Mr. Khabir, my son studied TaeKwondo for over a year under another instructor with disappointing results. I enrolled him under Mr. Khabir nearly two years ago and he has flourished in skill, physical shape, and confidence. My daughter and I have also joined MTA.
In addition to getting a great workout and learning self defense, each student is taught 5 virtues (Aims of Taekwondo)...those being respect, honestly, humility, perseverance, and self-control. Honestly, what more could you ask for in an after school activity.
Don't worry about being pushed too hard. While instructors want you to succeed, they won't push you beyond your comfort level.
As for other students in class, both adults and students are very welcoming. Whether you are an adult or child, you will quickly feel at home after several classes.

Joining the Massachusetts Taekwondo Academy "family" has been one of the best parts of moving to the Western Massachusetts/Northern Connecticut area.
