am not normally one to write reviews but really wanted to after the special care I received at East Longmeadow Animal Hospital. I brought my dog in after a fight with another dog--I was such a wreck. The care we received was above and beyond-from the very caring staff --right through to Dr Martin who was wonderful! Shadow is on his way to recovery and we both feel much better!

Dr. Martin did $700 worth of tests on my 6 year old dog 8 months ago, who was having swelling in the abdomen, drinking excessively, and lethargy. He said initially he was concerned because the dog was so bloated and xrays revealed she had an enlarged liver. After leaving the dog with him another hour, he called and said she was perfectly healthy and just gets "girth" from acid ingestion. He said all the bloodwork and urinalysis was normal. His advice, Just give her a pepcid AC. Well my sweet baby died from cardiac arrest caused from Pulmonic Stenosis. Her symptoms were classic to this disease. She slowly died over 8 months when surgery, medication, and diet change was available. How could he get this wrong? Besides the symptoms, her heart was enlarged from working so hard (Xrays would clearly show this), and her kidneys were retaining all the water and sodium in her body. When he heard we lost a dog he said "too bad", but did not even ask which dog died, we brought 3 there.
