In 1924, Stein Basnight, a graduate of UNC, opened S. H. Basnight Hardware. He sold residential and commercial hardware throughout eastern North and South Carolina. Through the years, Stein’s sons, Bill and Jesse, joined their father in the business. Later, Jesse Sr.s sons, Jesse Jr. and Steve, as well as, Bills children Terry and Don joined the family business.Currently, under the leadership of Terry Basnight Hamlet, AHC and Jesse Basnight Jr., S. H. Basnight and Sons, Inc. is a third generation, service-oriented sales company. We provide door hardware, doors, frames, and building specialties to the general construction industry for universities, schools, hospitals, churches, office buildings and manufacturing facilities. We also provide high quality door hardware and bath accessories for fine residences.
