Good Plumber

I have used Devlins on a number of projects. They have always been prompt, good with customers and excellent plumbers. Neil's rates were very competitive and I recommend them to my customers.

Neil came out and helped us with replacing our water hearter immediately the next day after we called to report it was gushing water everywhere. He was very professional and very helpful. He arrived at his scheduled time of 10 am and the job was completed by 3pm. They had to drill holes to move the gas and water lines so it was a lot more complex then we thought. He even mentioned he had a family emergency that day but stayed until the job was done. We will definitely be using the company again for any future plumbing needs and hope to work with Neil again in the future!

Devil's Plumbing

My water bill was outrageous one month ($185.00). The water company required a written assessment by a plumber indicating what the problem was before they would waive the cost of the water bill. I contacted Devlin's plumbing which I randomly selected out of the phone book. What a mistake! The owner of the company came out and within minutes of getting to my home informed me that my toilet which was running was responsible for the bill. Devlins plumbing charged me $60.00 for the visit to the house and an additional $60.00 for the $14.00 flush valve that needed raplacing. I faxed the copy of the receipt to the water company. One week later, there was a knock at my door. My neighbor, who is not a plumber stopped by to inform me that there was water flooding into the street from my front yard water meter. I contacted Devlin's Plumbing to informed them that the source of the water leak was not my toilet as was originally thought. They wanted to charge me an additional $60.00 to come out and see what the problem was but agreed to waive the cost since they had misdiagnosed the situation. They proceeded to inform me that my entire yard would need to be dug up due to PVC piping. They marked up my yard with orange spray paint and informed me that the job would be very costly. They could not give me an estimate that day (Friday) and stated they would need to come back on Monday. In the mean time, I contacted "Bernies Plumbing" who makes emergency calls. They found that the pipe leading to the meter was cracked and replaced it for $30.00. I spoke with Devlin's Plumbing following the visit by Bernie's Plumbing and requested my money back. I spoke with Neil who refused to refund my money stating that they found a leaking toilet. I informed him that they were contacted to diagnose the source of the leak that was causing my water bill to be so high and that they failed to make the correct diagnosis. I also informed him that I could have fixed the toilet myself and paid a third of what they charged me. Neil refused to refund my money but stated he would send me a Lowes card worth $60.00. I agreed to this. Following that day, I needed to make several calls to followup on the Lowes card. To this day I have not received the card and I donated $160.00 to Devlin's Plumbing. If I had not gotten a second opinion, I could have lost hundreds to thousands of dollars. I have decided to report Devlin's Plumbing to the Better Business Bureau.
