Gertrude Hawk Chocolates was established in 1936, when Gertrude Hawk began making chocolates in the kitchen of her Dunmore, Pa., home to help support her family. Church groups began raising money by selling her chocolates, and her reputation for creating homemade candy was established. Groups from across the United States continue to use the company s fund-raising programs to raise needed money to achieve their fund-raising goals. Gertrude Hawk Chocolates uses the same time-tested recipes that Hawk created in her kitchen.
