I have a 20 year old Trek that I had ignored. The young lady mechanic spent at least 30 minutes showing me my options and asking me questions to make sure I got just what I needed and stay within budget. I can't speak for everyone who works there but she was fantastic!

I live in Plainfield right by the new Cambrwest Plainfield bike park and I've seen all the shops around. They fixed every problem and Bulls#$%^ excuse that Sumbaums could make up with a smile on for a good price and did QUALITY work. They also did a little extra because they had a little extra time. I'm a trailboss I've been around the sport for a long time and try my best to keep BMX or whatever you like to ride around here, without the help of American Bicycle and the Concept shop I wouldn't be riding. The other reviews must of come in pissed off and frustrated and rubbed whoever was working the wrong way. These guys are polite, up to date, organized, and professional at great price ! 5 Stars! Go in be polite and ask for help !

The crank on my bike was making a terrible noise when I took it in. Trek found it was rather loose but cleaning, greasing and reassembling put it back in order. Only charged me for the labor. Friendly people and a very fast turn around

Awesome selection of bikes and accessories with excellent sales staff and mechanics. I've purchased several bikes here over the years from a high end carbon road bike to comfort bikes. Highly recommended.

I went to this store to buy a bike tire inner tube. It was an odd size that I've had trouble finding before. The salesman told me that not only did they not carry that size tube,he did not know where I would be able to find one. He then presented me with another tire tube of a slightly smaller dimension, and assured me that it would work. He charged me over six bucks, I took it home, installed it put fifty psi in it. Rode it 1/2 mile and the tube popped. I tried to return it for refund and they refused stating that I couldn't prove the tube wasn't damaged during installation or over inflation.

Now, I am almost fifty years old. I have been repairing and replacing tire tubes longer than anyone in that store has been breathing.

If you're looking to spend too much money on an overpriced bicycle Trek the store for you. But do not trust their service department.

Trek of DG is an embarrassment to bike shops. Seriously. I have rode racing bikes for over 30 years. I have gone into plenty of bike shops. Believe me, this one doesn't give a SH*t about you. From the owners, who work the store, to the mopes they hire. VERY ARROGANT!. They don't want to listen to you, they want you to spend your money on their bikes. They also sell Bontrager which I see as inferior tires to begin with. I know Bontrager was bought out by Trek and so it goes. Please do yourself a favor, don't bother. I would rather give my money to some bike shop in the UK than in my neighborhood!!!

I got into mountain biking at Palos about 3 years ago. Since then I have gone through 2 bikes. The second bike cost me $1500. I didnt buy the bike from Trek, but as time goes on, things break. So I needed parts and tools. I want to do alot of the work on my own, so I went to Trek of Downers Grove to buy the proper tools and to ask questions. You at least think Trek of DG would want to sell me the tools. They dont give a damn. I have been there 3 times and finally stopped going. I drive the extra few miles to a different bike shop. JUST BECAUSE I AM NEW TO BIKING AND I DONT KNOW WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT DOEST MEAN BE RUDE! DONT TALK DOWN TO ME! DO YOU WANT MY BUSINESS?!!? THEN BE NICE!!! TALK WITH ME, TEACH ME THINGS, SELL ME STUFF. OBVIOUSLY THEY DONT WANT MY MONEY?!?!?!? Trek of DG has lost my business. If you dont believe me, go see for yourself. I live in Downers close to Trek, but I drive out of the way for a bike shop that treats you well.
