Over 25 years of knowing this business and the company is top of the list for being honest and trustworthy in all aspects. Unfortunately sometimes they absolutely abide by rules and follow regulations and can not purchase anything that they have experienced people will not buy because of age or condition or dubious circumstances. I appreciate their discretion and will continue to purchase items as a retired Army veteran!

Worst Pawn Shop I have ever been to. I am retired Army and I have lived all over the US and Asia. Not only are the people there unprofessional and rude, but they tried to tell me my gold was not gold and buy it from me for 5 bucks. I took it to Atlantic Pawn and they gave me $600.00 cash for it. I would never go into this store again.

Change In Customer Service

My husband and I have been going to Mid Atlantic Pawn to loan on our jewelry off and on and buy some dvds ever since they had first opened, every 6 months or so give or take. We have always been treated fair and with respect. When the tall guy Jason was working with Teddy, he would put a smile on our faces every single time we went in. It felt like he actually truly cared about our situation. We started going to the south Dover store to deal with him more when they opened another one. He always took care of us, no matter what. He has been gone for a while now, he took another job up north is what we heard but I didn't realize how much we missed him until recently when we went to loan on our jewelry. There was a younger guy working there now and it was a completely different experience. When we handed our jewelry to him, he tested it and quoted us a price that was a lot lower than we got before. We told him that we used to get more for it when we loaned in the past and he looked up our account. He said that gold had gone down that's why he had offered us what he offered. I told him that the tall guy had always said that no matter what gold does, he would always honor the price if we have loaned on it before and at that he seemed offended that I had questioned him. He rang our loan up in a hurry and didn't say much else after that. He even forgot to give us our contract at first, he put it in a pile for trash on the wall until we asked him if we could have a copy. As we were leaving the store, the other guy who has worked there for a while was coming out of the back and he said something to him and they both laughed. I couldn't hear what he said, it just seemed disrespectful after what we had just been through. We picked our loan up a week or so later and the same guy was working. He barely spoke to us. He brought our loan out and kind of mumbled "Have a nice day." after I signed my name and he had handed me our envelope. As we were leaving even my husband noticed that something was off. It's sad when a business changes like that, we used to look forward to our trips there and now it's just not the same. They are still better than the other pawn shops in Dover, we just miss the big guy. I'm not sure if he still talks to them or reads these but if you do, I hope you like your new job and I hope your family is doing good. We miss you taking the time to make us feel welcome and happy. You were a blessing for so many years to us. Thank you for always being there for us and going above and beyond the normal service and always telling us about the good movies for us to watch. May God bless you.
