About Our Company Hollis & Spann has a solid history of performance that stands behind the knowledge, experience and skills of its Owners, Managers, and Staff. Founded in 1950 as Residential and Commercial Contractors by Robert H. Hollis, Jr. of Montgomery, Alabama and Jerome A. Spann of Dothan, Alabama, the company operated as a partnership on South Alice Street in Dothan until the death of Spann in 1965. Hollis then purchased the Spann interest and operated as Robert H. Hollis, Jr. dba Hollis & Spann, until the company incorporated under the laws of the State of Alabama in 1968. Hollis retained the Spann name in honor of the co-founder. In 1987, Hollis & Spann, Inc underwent a change of administration. Robert Hayne Hollis, III became President of the Company, continuing a tradition of strong, progressive leadership. Under this leadership, and through years of steady, organized growth, Hollis & Spann, Inc has changed to meet the demands of today's market in which our economy dictates that costs be contained on projects of varying size and complexity without sacrificing quality. As a result, Hollis & Spann, Inc has become one of the most respected contracting firms in the Southeastern United States, licensed to do business in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina and Tennessee.
