The name Odwalla was taken from a musical piece performed by the Art Ensemble of Chicago in which Odwalla was a leader who guided the people of the sun out of the gray haze. The company produces nutritious beverage and food items. Odwalla is a wholly owned subsidiary of The Minute Maid Company, a large producer of beverage products. Odwalla s product line includes drinks in several flavors, such as mango, strawberry, plum, apricot, grape, guava, apple, almond, vanilla, blackberry, lemon, cherry, banana, coconut, orange, cranberry, passion fruit and carrot. All of Odwalla s drinks are fortified with vitamins and minerals, such as magnesium, iron, potassium, protein, fiber, niacin, thiamin, and vitamins B6, C, D, A, E and B12. It also produces fruit and cereal bars with much of the same variety as found in the drinks. Odwalla is based in Half Moon Bay, Calif.
