Established in 1983, the Dickinson Police Department is a public safety agency comprised of community policing, patrol, narcotics and administration divisions. The department provides safety services to more than 20,000 residents. Its administration division includes services related to emergency communication, records management, information technology and the budget. The Dickinson Police Department oversees a staff of over 30 full- and part-time officers, as well as civilian employees. Its patrol division includes traffic units, jail personnel, and community outreach warrant and school resource officers. In addition, the department operates a criminal investigation division that deals with various aspects of crimes and criminal intelligence and receives reports from the patrol division on a daily basis. The Dickinson Police Department is located in Dickinson, Texas.
