The Chrysler District Probation Office is managed by the Department of Corrections, which is governed by the State of Michigan. The Department of Corrections provides a range of public protection services. It maintains the Bureau of Health Care Services. The department has an operations division that offers support to various correctional facilities administration institutions, including prisoner classification and placement, emergency management, food service and educational services sections. It administers the Prison Build Program, which assists local units of government and nonprofit organizations in providing housing and related products for low-income families through the use of inmate labor.
