The Development Center is a private nonprofit corporation that provides behavioral health and employment services. Operational for more than 20 years, it serves the residents of northwest Detroit. The organization employs a staff of over 125 personnel and serves approximately 4,000 individuals. The Development Center offers prevention, early intervention, treatment, education and rehabilitation services. It provides support services to people above 18 years of age. The organization offers individual therapy, case management, housing procurement and medication monitoring services. The Development Center also provides health coordination, parenting support, psychiatric evaluation, psychotropic medication, developmental assessment and infant massage services. In addition, it features crisis intervention, transportation assistance, and child care consultation and training services.
