The Downtown School provides an educational experience based on research and the best practices in elementary education. It also maintains a parent-teacher association. The school s staff members specialize in the areas of theater, dram, science, environmental education, math and guided learning. The Downtown School works in partnership with Drake University, Iowa State University, Simpson College, Des Moines Public Schools, Iowa Child Foundation and Nationwide Insurance. It is governed by the Des Moines Public School District. The Downtown School is located in Des Moines, Iowa.
