General Info
Come see us at Downtown Eye Care on the skywalk level. Check out our computerized Smart Mirror which takes digital photos of you in 4 different frames so you can easily pick your favorite while wearing your old glasses to see. We dedicate ourselves to enhancing the quality of life for every individual we treat by helping them to see their best and by preserving and protecting their vision and eye health throughout life. When you entrust your eye care to an Eye M.D., you will be cared for by a physician who has a broad medical education as well as specialty training in both medical and surgical treatment of eye diseases. We see patients of all ages for routine eye exams and contact lens fittings. Our goals are to provide complete eye care services and meet all of your eyewear needs. At Downtown Eye Care in Des Moines, IA we specialize in diabetic eye care and glaucoma screening and treatment. It is important to have an annual dilated eye exam performed to detect any possible complications and begin treatment in a timely manner. Diabetic retinopathy is a leading cause of blindness in adults. If we can catch it in time it can effectively be treated with our laser surgery option. Glaucoma is another leading cause of vision loss for adults. Unfortunately there are no symptoms early in glaucoma, but with regular eye exams, it can be detected early and be treated.
