Pooja Shankar, MD, is a board-certified family medicine physician with a focus on care for patients with acute illnesses, mental health needs and chronic conditions like diabetes and hypertension. She earned her medical degree from the Morsani College of Medicine at the University of South Florida, where she received the SELECT Headley White Award for Student Excellence in Family Medicine. Dr. Shankar completed her residency in family medicine at AdventHealth Medical Group Family Medicine at Winter Park in Florida and served as the Residency Association President. She provides a wide range of care to pediatric, adult and geriatric patients, and strives to be a health care advocate for her patients and their families. Dr. Shankar loves being a family medicine and believes it is a privilege to get to know her patients on a deeper level over the course of time. She believes in creating a safe space for all people from different walks of life.
