Great food, Great Service

You would never know this place existed if you didn't live in the area, know someone that has been there, or went out site-seeing for an afternoon. They are located in the oddest place, but it's a hidden treasure. The prime rib is delisious. I would suggest only purchasing the queen cut, no matter what your appetite. I have seen many attempt to eat the king and none of succeeded. The only down side to this is that when the owner (Emmy) goes on vacation back to Germany, she shuts the whole place down. The beer is great, there is October Fest on Sundays and there are live bands on Friday and Saturday nights. We have had one bad experience that was never made right, but we'll give them one more shot. We waited for 45 minutes to an hour only to find out that they were out of prime rib and there was no compensation offered.

Notably good service experience

This may appear to be less than it is but I can assure you that you WILL NOT be disappointed. If you leave hungry it is simply your own fault. Dinner includes salad, soup, bread to die for, and your entree will be all that you expected and then some. Miss Emmy is quite the character but I must say, she never forgets a repeat customer. This is absolutely one of the best places to eat in a 50 mile radius and I must say ythe prices are so reasonable that it could actually scare you!German nights are Wednesdays and Sundays when they have special dishes offered but any night is good to go.

GERMAN FOODIES REJOICE! It may look like a bar with a great parking lot But inside is GOOD EATS.

Even if at first glance you are dismayed, don't give up hope. Emmy's offers fine German food like Weiner & Jaeger Schnitzel, with red cabbage & spetsles, German fried potatoes, sausages & rump steaks with as well as chops, Grouper & a full line of beverages with many beers on tap like Worsteiner {Life is too short to drink cheap beer!} served in chilled ceramic mugs. All Dinners come with the soup of the day plus fresh baked bread plus either a choice or all three of the day's mixed pickled salads & your main course. Diners run from $12 to $24. Once a month Emmy's offers a German Sunday, complete with a german band.. Staff & customers wear dirndles & alpine shorts. Emmy herself is a well preserved German lady who closes up shop one month each summer & takes her whole waitstaff away either on a cruise or over to Germany for vacation. Come more than once & you've become family. Look for the massive collection of BEST OF awards from Volusia County & prepare to eat something special.
