- VaccinationMany of our clients find it convenient to drop their pet off for a few hours or even for the day when it needs an examination or treatment. You can arrange to drop off in advance or just stop in. Dropped off pets must be current on vaccinations unless ill or other circumstances would prevent recommended vaccines from being administered.

- Comprehensive ExaminationThe responsibilities of Veterinary Assistants vary considerably from one practice to another. In some situations, they may be assigned to assist only in the exam room or to assist only the Veterinary Technicians. More typically, though, they will divide their time between assisting the CSR’s, helping doctors with physical examinations, dispensing medications, and helping technicians position patients for and process radiographs, prepare patients for surgery, provide nursing, and comfort care, and perform treatments or basic laboratory diagnostic tests. The main duties and responsibilities of our assistants involve ensuring the clinic’s overall cleanliness, equipment operations and supplies are maintained. Assistants must build positive, professional relationships with clients and staff members. Assistants should have completed or be in the process of completing their high school diplomas and must pursue significant on-the-job training.

For client convenience, we also have an online pharmacy that can deliver most medications and many other pet products directly to your home or work address.

- Skin Condition and Allergy Treatment
- Intestinal Foreign Object RemovalDPVH’s doctors offer many years of experience and are able to perform a wide range of surgical procedures including orthopedic surgeries, routine castrations and spays, growth removals, skin biopsies, and abdominal exploratory procedures (foreign body removal, organ biopsies, tumor removal). Our licensed technicians and assistants help the doctors provide the best possible care for your sick or injured pet.
- Leptospirosis TreatmentPuppies receive a series of vaccines starting at 8 weeks of age through 16 weeks of age consisting of Distemper, Hepatitis, Parvovirus, Parainfluenza, Bordetella, Leptospirosis, Influenza and Rabies. Adult dogs that have completed all their puppy vaccines will receive boosters of all vaccines at one year of age with a Heartworm Test. After that, the Leptospirosis, and Heartworm checks are yearly. Bordetella is exposure dependent every 6-12 months. Distemper, Hepatitis, Parvovirus, Parainfluenza and Rabies vaccines are given every three years.

- Ear Infection TreatmentPlace cotton balls in their ears to keep water/shampoo from entering the ear canal (often causing an ear infection) and use a bland ophthalmic ointment in their eyes to keep shampoo and water from getting in the eyes prevent which can cause irritation.
- Arthritis TreatmentCanine osteoarthritis is a chronic degenerative joint disease that affects both the soft tissue and bones in joints. It is caused by the loss of smooth cartilage that covers and protects the ends of the bones in movable joints. When cartilage wears away, bone is exposed. And when two bone ends touch, pain and inflammation occur.
- Thyroid Disease TreatmentHypothyroidism results from the low circulation of the thyroid hormone. Typically, there is no known biological reason for hypothyroidism, though it is occasionally caused by an inflammation of the gland. It frequently causes pets to become lethargic and overweight with further symptoms including hair loss, dry skin, brittle hair, and bleaching of the hair coat.
- Heart Disease TreatmentHeartworms are parasites transmitted by mosquitoes that inhabit the heart and lungs of infected dogs. It can cause serious health problems, and if left untreated, may eventually lead to heart failure and death. Signs of heartworm disease include coughing, breathing difficulty, and reduced ability to exercise.
