I absolutely love this place!!! Growing up in Decatur the Back 40 is a taste of home. Throughout the years the staff have always been polite, and on their game. Food is excellent and the pricing is very fair for what u are eating on top of all you can eat buffet. I will continue to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, and even enjoy casual lunches at this wonderful restaurant

The best and classiest buffet I have been to. The prime rib and ham were especially delicious. I tried a little bit of everything and I don't have a bad thing to say. This place is wonderful!

My husband and I go thru Decatur every 4 to 8 weeks on our way to and from a church in Anderson. It is our 1/2 way point. We do not miss the chance to eat at the Back 40. Staff has always been very courteous and seem to go out of their way to make sure you have everything you need. The food is fabulous. Everything always seems very fresh and the rolls are to die for. Go hungry! You will want to try so much of everything there, and there is no way that you can try everything without coming away completely satisfied.

I drive from fortwayne every friday night just to eat there! All you can eat crab legs to die for every fri. Best food arround!! buffet style eating. The quality of food is exceptional!!! Seating is a bit tightly squeezed but well worth it. Its a very unique place with a look back in time. A must see an taste place! Make sure you have plenty of time to wait or I suggest a reservation because everyone else knows it too!!!!

A local favorite of mine

A fantastic, well above average buffet or menu restaurant. Fridays feature all you can eat seafood, including crab legs, shrimp. There's also prime rib and a wonderful array of side dishes, meats, breads, salads and the like. Most buffets offer average food. The usual standard for buffets is good but average food for the money. For a few dollars more, the food at the Back 40 Junction is way above average, equal to a fine dining restaurant that offers menu choices only. Just a quick 30 minute drive south of Fort Wayne, don't pass the opportunity to try out this great restaurant!

General Info
Walking in the door of the Back 40 Junction is like stepping back in time. The main dining room holds a priceless Tiffany chandelier. Fascinating artifacts decorate the walls and ceilings, including whaler's lamps, authentic Burma Shave highway signs and oil lamps once owned by Carol Lombard. You'll see the area's largest collection of sculptures by John Rogers, dating from the mid-1800s. Antique Barnum and Bailey Circus posters adorn the walls of our Nickel Plate Pub, which also houses copper brewing equipment from Fort Wayne's Centlivre Brewery. Please be sure to call us to make reservations. We do not take reservations over email. Also please note that we only hand write gift certificates. If you are from out-of-town and need a gift certificate, please give us a call. We can send it to you in the mail. Please stop by, we would love to see you!
