Great products & service: They do get behind on calls sometimes, due to service concerns. Make appts for maint. in advance.
Design Air could not have been better! They came in assessed our situation, designed a new system with zoning to eliminate our problems with hot and cold areas in our house and installed a new system. Everything was done neatly and cleaned up nightly. We had a new geothermal unit put in on an existing ground loop. Design Air made a couple of additional trips out to diagnose and correct problems with the ground loop months after installation. They are one of those rare companies with service before AND after the sale.
I'll start by saying, I'd rather be doing something else right now, but I'm not. I'm here to warn innocent customers. DESIGN AIR IS NOT GOOD AT ALL. I gave these guys sooo many chances to get it right and they still haven't. Our furnace is a waterfurnace 5 (and we like it..I would recommend it). This project started in the early summer of 2014. New construction (June). I had to call repeatedly to get them to come out and get finished enough so that drywall could go up (late August). After drywall, they realized that a couple of the returns were insulated and drywalled over, because they forgot to mark them. I helped fix this. I had to beg them to come out and get the system up and running before it got too cold for the drywall (September). Initial running of the furnace filled the house with smoke. They had to fix that. The duct damper was installed improperly and would make an awful noise. They came out multiple times to try to fix this problem. I diagnosed the problem after 3-4 weeks, told them how to fix it, and had to monitor the repair. There is a transformer inside the unit that they did not install correctly. This caused faults. They had to make 2 trips out to fix this. They attempted to charge me for a no heat service call when the furnace quit one night. Their customer service has been awful honestly. They act like I'm a pain for them. All I asked for, was a system (the one I was quoted and ultimately paid for) to work properly and as advertised. This review sounds awful, but these are facts...frustrating facts. I would recommend shopping elsewhere. Maybe design air will read this and change their ways, but I doubt it.
I used Design Air for installing a new geothermal unit that replaced my conventional furnace and air conditioner. Their quote for geothermal was the best price I got when compared to other places. They are kind and courteous. They also got the job done in a reasonable manner. Cleaned up after they were done. They sell Water Furnace brand geothermal units which is a trusted brand. The geothermal unit has been up and running for around three weeks so far and no problems or issues. I really like the geothermal and the work that Design Air did. Looking forward to a lasting relationship with Design Air as they continue to service the new geothermal in the years to come.
Do not go to them they came out the guy said it was fixed then I go to use it again when it gets hot and it doesn't work! so I call and the lady acts all snotty and says they can probably come out the next day and they are still going to charge me even though its his mistake and my baby's had to sit in the heat and sweat because they are idiots! and then I ask if he can just tell me whats wrong before fixing it like he supposedly did last time and billed me and nothing was fixed what is up with the free estimate? so I'm not even having them come back iv had a few people tell me that they will keep coming back out and charging and saying its something different wrong each time wish I would of knew that before I had them come out! be smart and don't call them they are ridiculous
