Laurel Ridge Elementary School is a part of the DeKalb County School System, which serves more than 102,000 students and employs over 13,200 staff members. The school provides educational services to more than 300 students in prekindergarten through grade five. Its general academic curriculum includes language arts, math, science and social studies. It provides special education programs for students with special needs. Laurel Ridge Elementary School offers the English for Speakers of Other Languages program. The school also provides speech, occupational, physical and recreational therapies. It has a parent-teacher association that organizes fundraising activities and special events, including family nights, field trips and holiday parties. In addition, it offers a range of student activities that includes art, music, band and physical education.
