Music Stream Center has served the Yolo County area since 2003. From our beginnings as a very small school, we have grown to become the most comprehensive music school in our area. Our staff consists of dedicated teachers with advanced degrees in performance and pedagogy. Our teachers collaborate using our collective experience to help each student reach their full potential. Getting Started at Music Stream Center Research has shown that very young children can develop an awareness of pitch and musical concepts. If left untapped this natural feeling for music may never be developed. We offer Harmony Road Music Course- an internationally successful piano based music program for children as young as two years of age. This exciting, comprehensive American group music program is designed to help children discover the world of music through motivating materials and hands on activities, which develop each child into a well-rounded musician.Why Choose UsFocus On Teaching All we do is teach. We do not sell or rent instruments or music. This leaves us free to specialize in one thing - providing the highest quality of music instruction. University Trained Teachers Our instructors are highly qualified and many have extensive performance experience. Most importantly, our instructors strive to relate their teaching to each individual student's learning style. All Ages - Beginners to Advanced Our current students range from 2 years old to students in their 60's and 70's. We take care to teach what you want to learn so music is rewarding for students of all ages and levels. Our unique combination of Private Lessons, Musicianship Class and Music Lab The private lessons ensure that the student has the undivided attention of the teacher and can progress at a level suited to them individually. The musicianship classes teach theory, ear training, music history, and composition, etc. The music lab promotes total musical growth through computer MIDI technology. Regular Recitals Recitals are held at least 4 times a year. These provide students with performance experience and build confidence. Participation in music festivals, competitions and workshops is also available. Audition and Exam Preparation We offer full training in repertoire, studies, technique, ear training and sight reading to prepare students for Music Teachers Association of California exams, National Piano Guild Auditions, and California Association of Professional Music Teachers exams. We also prepare students for various orchestra or band auditions or to excel in their academic area of interest in music.
