Hayes Elementary School has an annual enrollment of more than 290 students. It serves students in kindergarten through grade five. The school s academic curriculum includes reading, math, science and physical education. Hayes Elementary School also offers extracurricular activities, such as band, orchestra and music. It maintains a library that provides a variety of educational resources and materials. The school offers opportunities for students to participate in a range of sports activities, such as soccer, softball, football and basketball. Hayes Elementary School has a parent-teacher organization that works for student welfare. The school administers the English as a Second Language program, as well as has a student council. It also offers gifted and talented education programs for students with special needs. Hayes Elementary School is governed by Davenport Community Schools.
