This review is for the waxing services with Shawn. The first time I visited the salon 4 years ago I was greeted upon walking in by a very friendly staff. I had been waxing myself for 4 years prior and was fairly comfortable explaining what I wanted. Shawn was great! She was easy going and made me feel at ease whipping out my lady parts. She also thoroughly inspects the waxed areas as she goes and uses tweezers to remove any ingrowns and stubborn hairs. After moving to the Chicago suburbs, I continued to drive back to Iowa for my salon services until my schedule just didn't allow it anymore. I was waxed in Chicagoland once and nearly walked out with the wax still on me. Their website claimed they did bikini and Brazilian waxed, but when I arrived and was undressed the lady said, "You want me to do what, where?!" I had to tell the lady which way to pull the strips and in which direction to apply the wax. The whole process lasted less than 14 minutes, I had patches of hair left and things waxed together. I immediately told Shawn what happened and made my next appointment with her. She has also been cutting, coloring, and hilighting my hair for 4 years. She does a great job and makes sure to get the color very close to the scalp so it doesn't look like you have 3 weeks of outgrowth when you walk out of the salon. She and Tracy are the only two stylists who have EVER been able to color my hair without any brassiness as well. All in all, if you are a beginner or a pro at having your ladybits waxed, Shawn is THE person you need to see!
