The Institute for Advanced Learning and Research, also known as IALR, offers several undergraduate and graduate degree programs. It provides courses in the areas of human resources, information technology, liberal arts, natural resources and project management. The institute also offers bachelor s degree programs in the fields of criminal justice, early childhood education, and homeland security and emergency preparedness. The Institute for Advanced Learning and Research provides outreach programs. The institute operates a conference center that includes an auditorium, hall, and meeting and function space. The Institute for Advanced Learning and Research has partnerships with the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, Averett University and Danville Community College.
