I have a complaint against Athens Canine and Rescue. I adopted a small dog after completing a series of paperwork, references, home inspection, etc. Andrea, the foster mom who was housing these animals, gave me a dog with mange. Her name was Laney but we changed it to Zoey, I believe she was in my husband's or my name, William Eugene or Susan Rogers. 42 W Beaverdam Road Winterville Georgia, home phone 706-742-0007. I called your place because I want it to be known that people need to be on the alert of this possibly happening to them. I have searched for a contact number and was unable to find one. I asked Dr Rowan who is treating her and he didn't know either. He said it was very common to pick buy these dogs like this. I have MS and my husband is in the last stage of heart disease so adopting Zoey was an expense we were not counting on. Dr. ED was so kind that he is not charging me for office visits just only for the meds. How kind of him. I have tried to contact Andrea who lives only five minutes from me and I can't get her to return phone calls. All I can say is I am glad that Zoey is no longer living in her not so nice environment and with me where it it is clean, good food, warm bed, lots of land to run on and good medical attention. If you could get this message to whom ever runs this place, I would greatly appreciate it. I love Zoey and have no intention on giving her back, I am concerned about the remaining animals. Thank you for all your help. Susan Rogers

This is a wonderful group, and we just adopted a beautiful kitten from them yesterday. The people were friendly and worth the drive from Acworth. I was dealing with a local organization before Madison/Oglethorpe, and they were rude and not honest. Adopting from Madison Oglethorpe Animal Shelter was easy, enjoyable, and they went out of their way to get their pets adopted. They do a great job! Thank you!
