      Psychemedics Corporation provides systems that test individuals hair for the presence of drugs of abuse. The company s client list includes thousands of corporations that use hair testing as part of drug-free workplace programs. In addition, several police departments, schools and Federal Reserve banks also utilize Psychemedics' hair tests. The company s patented technology uses radioimmunoassay, ultra-sensitive gas chromatography and mass spectrometry procedures to detect drugs deposited in the hair by the blood stream. Drugs that the test is able to detect include marijuana, cocaine, opiates, methamphetamine and phencyclidine. Psychemedics laboratory operations are located in Culver City, Calif. The company is headquartered in Acton, Mass.
