  Dr. Bennett is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He served on the faculty of UT Southwestern Medical School for five years in the Consult Liaison Division. This area of medical practice deals with the interface of psychiatric symptoms and medical conditions that may be contributing to or causing behavioral or emotional disturbances. Dr. Bennett also saw patients in the division of Psychoneuroendocrinology. This field is the clinical study of hormone fluctuations and their effects on brain function and behavior. Of particular focus was the role of steroid effects on the central nervous system.

  While childhood ADHD may be easier to recognize or diagnose, it’s not as simple for adults with ADHD. This mental health disorder often goes undiagnosed in childhood and presents more as an attention deficit in adulthood.   Deep Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (Deep TMS) is a safe, non-invasive, outpatient procedure shown to help patients who have not benefited from antidepressant medication. Deep TMS utilizes repeated magnetic pulses to safely and effectively regulate neural activity related to various mental health conditions. There are currently two kinds of TMS devices available as a form of therapy: the earlier, standard rTMS and the more advanced Deep TMS. While they share certain similarities, each holds its own unique attributes, with standard rTMS being the first on the market, and Deep TMS being the only non-invasive therapy FDA-cleared to treat major depressive disorder (MDD) and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD).
