I took my healthy 15 month old Great Dane here to get him neutered and got a call the next day that they found him dead in the morning. I spoke with the Vet, Dr. Wallin who was very defensive, and didn't bother to apologize. I went by to pick up his body, so I could bury him at home. At that time I spoke to the office manager who told me the owner had agreed to pay to replace my dog. After several months, when I was ready to get another dog, I contacted her and was told that I was mistaken and that they had never said that.
One of the most horrible experiences of my life!

We've been using Dr. Helvie @ Dahlonega Vet Hospital for a couple of years now. We now own six animals (both dogs and cats), and Dr. Helvie and his staff of vet techs take very good care of all of them. We have a cat with seizures, and Dr. Helvie has been amazing in helping me through her care. He even answers the phones at the vet hospital when everyone else is busy. Love this place!

Took our dog a few years ago and the dog was traumitized by their lack of caring attitude. Their wait room staff were not attentive and seemed to care more about their personal business. We use to use this hospital for boarding as well for our dog and cat. Took dog to another vet hospital and had a great experience. Will not go back or recommend Dahlonega Vet Hospital now that we have options that are so much better. Forgot to mention that they also tried to sell us on other procedures, etc which were not necessary/critical.

We have many animals so we get to visit the vets often, Mark Helvie went above and beyond when our dog was diagnosed with cancer with seeing him after hours and trying to save him by surgery. It wasn't possible but he helped make a very difficult time bearable.
