First of all, let me start off that I have been a loyal customer at the Cypress location for many years.Yesterday I came in and wanted to purchase rib eye steak at the $4.99 sale price, 15 pounds for my niece's upcoming birthday. The store was out of stock, so I asked for a raincheck. First time I asked for a raincheck in years. A gentleman wrote it, gave it to the supervisor or manager to approve and I took the raincheck home.Today, I returned to the store and gave the butcher the rain check so that they can price it appropriately. Here is where the drama began. The staff kept passing the rain check from one person to another and finally to the supervisor / manager in charge. This took about 10-15 minutes. The supervisor, instead of asking me for more details, basically accused me of falsifying the raincheck. No clarifying questions, nothing. Just based on the fact that the rain check was written in blue ink and did not include a store #.I DON'T FREAKING WORK THERE! I have no idea what is required or not required. I am a customer, was given a raincheck and now basically accused of forgery. Come on, if it was a forgery, would it even have the price of the meat as it was priced yesterday??? I told the person in charge that I received the raincheck the day before, found the nice gentleman who wrote the raincheck and he corroborated my facts. At this point, the store manager or supervisor has wasted 30 minutes of my time and could only apologize for the error. Is this how Stater Bros wants to treat loyal customers? Accusing them of forgery, where it's clear the employees themselves are not properly trained and don't follow protocol? Or not seeking to understand the facts before making accusations? Saying sorry doesn't make it right. What kind of scam am I running, paying for $75 dollars worth of meat? Are you kidding me? I spend thousands of dollars a year at your store. Unacceptable. An apology does not make it right, being treated in this undignified way is not right.I want to understand what gives a supervisor this self-righteous attitude to make assumptions without seeking to understand the truth or find out details from customers. Terrible, terrible experience!
