The Cypress City Council oversees the administrative and financial functions of the city government. The council conducts various elections for the city. Its responsibilities include implementing plans for adequate replacement funds for public facilities and infrastructure, as well as communicating with residents and businesses. The Cypress City Council is a part of the city of Cypress, Calif., which also includes street, utilities, planning, police and engineering departments. Its public works department maintains the streets, storm drains, street signs, parks and parking lots of the town.
