Sawnee Elementary serves students in kindergarten through grade five. Its academic curriculum includes programs in language arts, mathematics, science and social studies. The school additionally has art, music, French and physical education specialists. Sawnee Elementary has a media center that houses more than 10,000 books, nearly nine computers and several print and multimedia reference resources. It also offers an accelerated reader program that encourages students to read more books. The school offers the English Language Learners program and gifted and talented education. In addition, Sawnee Elementary offers a counseling program that includes student development by individual and group counseling, classroom guidance and consultation with parents, teachers and community resources. The school is located in Cumming, Ga., and is a part of Forsyth County Schools.
