The Forsyth County Sheriff's Office maintains a criminal investigations division that is responsible for investigating all crimes that occur within Forsyth County, Ga. The division also provides follow-up investigation on cases where a crime has been committed but no arrest has been made, as well as initiating new cases independently. It undertakes a variety of cases, such as general and property investigations, burglary, auto theft, white-collar fraud and narcotics abuse. In addition, the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office also maintains several specialized units, including K-9, motor, court security, uniform patrol, crime prevention and training, as well as a Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team. The sheriff s office is accredited by the State of Georgia Law Enforcement Certification and the Commission on Accreditation of Law Enforcement Agencies.
