      Welcome to Murff Turf Farms. We are a sod and grass company serving the Humble, Kingwood and all surrounding areas. Murff Turf Farm's goals are to provide our customers with quality turf products that are freshly harvested and deal with our customers in a fair and honest manner. Murff Turf Farm began in 1969 by Bill Murff. Bill was a high school Agriculture teacher looking for a way to supplement his teaching salary. Starting with 15 acres, Bill began to produce Floratam. Over 25 years later, Murff Turf Farm employs all three of Bill's children, Renee', Scott, and Lindy and produces over 1500 acres of turf with many varieties to offer its customers. The primary varieties produced are St. Augustine grass and Tif Bermudas. Whether your needs are on the wholesale side or if you are a homeowner and would like to buy fresh sod directly from the field we will be happy to serve you. Murff Turf Farm strives to keep up with the changes in the sod industry. We do not offer every new variety on the market. What we do is evaluate the new grasses and try to pick grasses that consumers will have needs for. We evaluate lots of grasses. For example, FX-10, a chinch bug resistant St. Augustine grass, sounds great, but the cold winters and dry summers were too much for it to handle. On the other hand, Palmetto, a new variety of St. Augustine grass, has been a great performing grass for hot, humid conditions and we now have made it available to our customers. We try to have grasses that have proven performance. A growing part of our business is that of sports turf. Each year we work harder on improving our stock of Tif Bermudas and we have a proven installation method, which produces some beautiful sports fields.
