McCraney tree service is a family business. Buddy McCraney was the first started in 1948 as a tree surgeon in Covington La. Had 3 sons and they carry on the business. Chuck McCraney passed the arborist test he went to college. Barry took the arborist test 3 times but state failed him. They never asked tree cutting questions and he brought his neighbor the first time in 1992 and they passed the neighbor a retired welder. They never even asked if you ever cut a tree and that should have been the first question. The state said it didn't matter if they couldnt cut a tree as long as they have liability insurance that was good enough. Barry had insurance since 1982, never filed a claim. Started climbing in 1972 for his dad. Barry graduated in 1976 and never seen arborist in dictionary. They were called tree surgeons. Don't really know what an arborist is. Barry took test again in 1996 again the state failed him. He asked to see what he missed on test but state wouldn't allow it. He took test again 3rd time in 2009 and again failed. No tree questions. So Barry is still cutting and climbing trees for local citizens needs and has occupational license st tammany parish since 1982 and has always been insured.Tree removal and tree trimming is my specialty.
