My family and I have been frequenting this establishment since it opened as a Pepe's across the street. Much of the kitchen and serving crew are still there and time has made the fare even better and more diverse over the years. Count on a congenial and festive atmosphere, healthy portions, and the best, slightly Americanized Mexican food around, with fair prices and killer marguaritas. It's great for small or larger parties of people. It also has a cozy bar if you just want to stop in for a drink.
I have been to this restaurant numerous times and each time the food gets better. Thoroughly enjoy the atmosphere and always receive quite attentive service.
My first visit was for lunch mid-week.First, I'd like to say it was decorated very festive, bright colors, nice pottery, pictures. The wait staff is very attentive.To the table with a pitcher of water, menus. I was surprised by the extensive menu. I had the chicken Tostadas. Very moist chicken, every topping very fresh as in lettuce, spices. Plenty of food moderatly priced I must say. My guest had Chili Relanos (sp) which they said was so very good, about the best he had. He then spoke with the waiter about it, and found out this Restaurant has been there 23 yrs, most of them directly across the street in another smaller bldg. This waiter stated the Chef had created many dishes and has been with them as well as himself for their entire 23 years. We had 2 meals comple with leftovers for 2 and 3 beers for $32. Great place to go I suggest the dinner hour when there is also live entertainment "Mariachis" call for days of the week.
EXCELLENT Carne Asada (medium rare). Been going here for years and it's the BEST!!!
