I'm not the type to write online reviews but after my experience with Dr. Rocker and the Westchester Medical Practice it seems decent to offer others a word of caution if they are considering becoming patients. I believe that professionals who are experts in their field have a duty to their clients who are less informed to be reliable advisers. I'm not saying they need to parent us but if they know that one course of action will costs their client greatly, and there is an alternative course of action that would avoid that cost, then it is their responsibility to provide proper advice. Unfortunately Dr. Rocker and his staff are not helpful in this way. Dr. Rocker himself seems preoccupied and was generally unresponsive to health concerns that my wife and I brought up during our visits. This lack of focus on the needs of the patient ultimately landed me a big medical bill for something that I had gotten pre-approved but under a different billing code than Westchester Medical would allow. I don't question their billing policies but I do think it is negligent not to explain these policies to their customers. At the time I had other options, now I just have a big bill. Honestly, I would recommend searching for another doctor. The area has many other medical practices with facilities that are less dated and dingy, that have doctors with more interest in their patients. Finally, my wife advises anyone going to Dr. Rocker to avoid any situation where he actually draws the blood. Your skin will thank you for waiting for a nurse to become available, she had bruises on both arms for a week!
