Located in Cordova, Tenn., and founded in 2002, Dexter Elementary School is affiliated with the Shelby County School District. The school offers a variety of academic, cocurricular and enrichment programs. It has more than 700 students in grades kindergarten through four and enrolls students from all ethnic, social, and economic groups. Dexter Elementary School offers computer and science labs, library and a gymnasium. The school offers classes, such as social studies, music, art, English and mathematics. It also offers programs and classes, including reading, speech, library and special education. Dexter Elementary School has a parent-teacher association that focuses on increasing awareness and participation in curriculum and policy development by enhancing communication between home and school.
