Patty B you must be one of those employees there that got away with everything. I'm sorry but this place needs to be shut down. I have gone in there to visit my family and NONE of the nurses or RNS were nice or polite. They were all snot noses and thats being nice. I know for a fact that they DO yell at the new traines in front of the people staying there. I seen it. So for you to say its not true is a complete lie. I am truely shocked that place has not been sued yet. I feel bad for those stuck there and those very few good employees that work there to. I would STRONGLY suggest another place out side of this one.
as a former employee of this facility , i would not suggest anyone applying for a job there, they Are constantly understaffed, and its not fair to residents or staff, the reprimand people who dont need to be reprimaned , and leave the ones who do , alone. majority of the RNs or LPNs do not do anything to help the CNAs when asked, I feel bad for anyone who puts a family member or loved one in this facility , beacause they have some aides who are completely unfit, threatening abuse, and things such as that,
I was in West Hills for 8 months this place is a nightmare. The rehabilitation department is wonderful but they can't do their jobs correctly because the nursing floors do not cooperate. There are so many abusive lazy employees there it is unbelievable. I had quite a few problems with a CNA their Yvette. What she did to me was actually criminal it was witnessed by three employees two RN's and a CNA. It was taken to the Brian the director of West Hills. I was told by several people nothing will be done she gets away with everything she has had many complaints. They were so right. The director Brian came to talk to me he had seen the evidence and new the complaint. I was told by Brian I must have missed identified her because he asked Yvette she said she didn't do it. What a surprise she denies it. I described her to a T and Brian said yes that sounds like Yvette but I still think you have the wrong person. He even talked to my witnesses the three employees. Nothing was done to her it was brushed under the rug. I didn't take it to the police for fear of retaliation. They put a break room at the end of the hall which was the biggest mistake that they could have done many of the employees especially the CNA sit in that Break room and don't bother answering call lights. There were so many times the physical therapy department would have to ask the residents, I see your call light is on is there something you need. Which was taking them away from what they should have been doing. I feel so sorry for the physical therapy department it's like they have to be doing everything there. Once I waited for 45 minutes to be taken off the bedpan so I just started putting the bedpan under my bed and got myself on and off the bedpan because I was nonweightbearing. I saw many falls that were covered up there. I don't know how this place stays open. They should have been sued long ago.
Im a former worker of west hills, and im sorry when applying for a job you do not goto the floor you goto recepinist desk and wait on someone to take you to the hall behind the offices to use the computer and apply.. you are no where on the floor.. so i have a really hard time believing that, that review is even close to truth. As for the hostile co worker.. that too is not tolerated! There are however ALOT of things that are over looked and the innocent take the blame for the guilty.. but those 2 employees mentioned.. NOPE cant see it.
My mother lives here and fortunately for her, she's able to do most of her daily routine alone For the residents that actually require care however, I couldn't imagine a worse environment. The status quo is laziness and indifference. The few good employees are constantly overworked picking up the slack left from everyone else. West hills seems to have a "just look the other way" policy to handle just about everything. I frequently hear staff yelling at residents and each other. CNA Yvonne can frequently be heard screaming obscenities at the residents and threatening, with bodily harm, anyone that dares to question her work ethic, which is non existent...but from the look of things, she fits right in with all of the other obnoxious behavior that just goes unchecked there because they are seemingly constantly under staffed. If you love your loved one, choose a different facility.
I went to go apply for a job at this location today and when I came in there was a employee named Jayda that was going off on a traine. She was yelling at her and even had the nerve to tell yet another employee there to watch her back. All this while they were in front of what I believe to be a patient and his family. The poor trainee was in tears and from what i could tell it was over not being trained properly. I WILL NOT be applying there if this is how the employees act and treat trainees and I WILL NOT recommend any family keep their loved ones there. This girl should be fired and made to apologize to the trainee for how she treated her and the comments she made to other fellow employees. I will be contacting the person in charge first thing in the morning. No one should be treated this way in any job.
